In order to receive Satellite Internet, a satellite dish must be installed at your location. Cable from this dish must be ran from our dish to a modem. Cabling from the dish to the modem can not exceed 400ft. From the modem you can connect an Ethernet cable which can be up to 333' giving you a total length of ~700ft. You can connect that cable to a computer or a wireless router or switch extending your signal another 333ft wired or up to 600ft wireless. (Wireless work like a cordless phone, you will need to be in range to get a signal)
Yes, you can buy a wireless router. This router will connect straight to our modem. There are 4 wired Ethernet jacks in the back of all wireless routers. This allows you to connect up to 4 computers to the router via “cat-5 cable”. The router is also wireless, allowing you to connect up to 10 computer/laptops wirelessly.
HughesNet no longer activates the older DW6000/DW4000/DW3000 modems. If your modem is blue in color, you will need all new equipment. Also, if your dish has a white transmitter on it. You will have a problem using that dish with the newer xx7000 modems.
You will spend $225 to have a used system re installed, you will NOT qualify for any rebates and the system is not warranted…
Or
You can have a new system installed for only $249 after rebates.
You will have a full 24 month warranty, Professional installation is included, and you will get faster speed for the same monthly price by using our new HN7000s modem.
This could happen when a VERY thick and heavy rain clouds passes overhead. Here in California we rarely see this problem. An easy rule of thumb is if you experience brief outages with DirecTV or Dish Network now, you will with this system too. Once again it needs to be VERY thick and heavy to experience an outage.
HughesNet delivers high-speed Internet over satellite—not over your telephone line—so you can surf and talk at the same time. A certified HughesNet installer will connect your computer to a satellite modem and link it to a satellite dish (antenna) that’s typically mounted on the roof of your home. The satellite dish sends and receives information (i.e., email, Web pages, files) over the Internet and delivers it your computer almost instantly! Trace the path with your mouse to learn more

Sorry, our system both SENDS and received data. Do to the fact that we are transmitting a signal to a satellite the FCC requires that a certified HughesNet technician install all systems.
Our rebate department is really good about that stuff. Just send them an email at rebate(at)getdsltoo.com and they will send you and authorization code to submit your rebate without your missing information. Be sure to let them know what you are missing.

The Small Office system is $699 which INCLUDES standard installation. There is $175 in Mail-in rebates, giving you a total cost of $524. After that you pay the monthly service of $99.
If the $699 sounds like too much for you to pay upfront, on the day of installation, you can pay $299 upfront and pay an extra $20 a month for the 1st 24 months. For example, the Home plan will be $119.99 for the 1st 24 months and then just $99.99 thereafter. You still qualify for $175 in rebates.
The math on the payment plan $20 x 24 = $480 + $299 up front so it’s an extra $80 for the payment plan, or an extra $3 per month.

A Static IP address provides increased security and is necessary for applications such as video conferencing, voice over IP and VPN solutions.
In January 2006 Hughes Communications, Inc., completed the purchase of the remaining 50 percent of Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HNS) from The DIRECTV Group, Inc. The HN7000s is the latest version of the HughesNet® modem. With a faster processor and improved firmware it offers increased download and upload speeds as well as improved E-mail Anti-Spam and Vrius Protection. The HN7000s is the next generation HughesNet® System modem with a sleek new design. It makes connecting to the Internet easier by incorporating HughesNet® software inside the HN7000s unit. So, there’s no HughesNet® software to load on your computer, or upgrades to download. The HN7000s automatically updates itself via the satellite. Also, the HN7000s modem houses both the transmit and receive components in one compact unit, unlike the DW4000 that has a separate transmit and receive modem stacked together and linked by a 24-pin serial cord.
It also uses a simple Ethernet connection to connect your computer to your HughesNet® Service. Once your satellite dish is installed and connected to the HN7000s all you need to do is connect your computer by using the provided Ethernet cable and you’re high-speed surfing (see ‘Can I run HughesNet® on a small network?’ for networking capability requirements).
